IMPORTANT: Once your course registration and payment have been submitted, you have essentially entered a contract with Coastal Bend Motorcycle Academy, LLC, (dba) Coastal Cycle Academy. As a registered student you are responsible for knowing our company policies.

Take the Course
We supply the motorcycles, and loaner helmets and gloves. All you need is long sleeves, long pants, sturdy over the ankle shoes (boots) that cover the bones on your ankles, the ability to balance on two wheels, and a desire to have fun!

Basic Rider Course (BRCu)
The motorcycle rider course is designed for the beginner, but a GREAT refresher for those with experience too. The motorcycle class provides insight into the principles and processes necessary to safely ride on public roads, streets, and highways. A motorcycle driver course is recommended for everyone! What do you need? Long sleeves, long pants (jeans are recommended), over the ankle shoes (covers the bones on your ankles), DOT-approved helmet (we have loaners), full-finger gloves.

A 5-hour online prerequisite course that you complete at your own pace. You are able to take the course over and over if you like, but the completion certificate will only print the original students' names on it. The online course satisfies the Texas written motorcycle test.
Three-Wheel Motorcycle Course (3WBRCu)
For the enthusiast with 3-wheels - 2 in front OR 2 in the rear. (Must be 21 or older)

Not for Beginners
This course presents intermediate-level riding skills required to safely operate a full-sized motorcycle, and the basic psychology of riding. No beginner skills are presented. You WILL have FUN, experience a measurable improvement in your skills, and did we mention you will have FUN?

Replacement Course Completion Certificate

If your class was within 3 years of today we will provide a replacement with the original certificate number and course completion date, and mailed via USPS the next business day. If needed sooner, a $5.00 expedite fee is imposed.
If more than 3 years have passed since your course completion date, we are not permitted by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations (TDLR) Administrative Code §98.106 to provide a replacement card.

What do I need to take a BRC course?
Be at least 15 years of age, have a valid class C learners permit, or valid driver license (any state), and the ability to balance a bicycle (two-wheels).
We provide the motorcycles, plus we have loaner helmets and gloves if you don't already have those.
We ride rain or shine!
For the range, you provide the following:
- Long Sleeves (can be a shirt or jacket)
- Long pants (Jeans preferred)
- Sturdy over the ankle shoes (boots work best) (must cover bones on your ankles)
- Full finger gloves
- Eye protection
- D.O.T. approved motorcycle helmet
- eCourse completion certificate (dated within 30 days of your class date)
- Remember ATGATT - (All The Gear All The Time)
- Motorcycle specific rain gear if rain is in the forecast

This website should answer most of your questions and address a majority of your concerns. Although we have a physical classroom, and motorcycle riding range we don't have an office staff. An online office helps us keep costs down and keep you informed 24 hours, 7 days per week.
